The reason to have a conference in Chongqing is because it has become a major manufacturing hub, an automotive and motorcycle hub, a new Gateway to Europe with a train service from Chongqing to Europe in 12 days. Chongqing is also China's largest city with some 32 million people and therefore also a consumer hub as well. Some of the companies with operation in Chongqing is: Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mazda, Ford, BP, Lafarge, Honeywell, Fiat, Volvo, Ericsson, Honda, Continental, Denso, Wal Mart, Johnson Control, Visteon, Apple, Pepsi, BASF, Danone, NTT Group to mention a few. Transportation from Chongqing has daily cargo flights, a brand new railway container depot, river and truck services. There are an estimated 100 quality freight forwarders in Chongqing. We will also invite freight forwarders from Chengdu which is also trying to develop into a logistics hub for Western China. Chongqing has huge export to South America and Africa of motor cycle engines and spare parts, therefore we hope that a good number of South American and Africa members will attend. As the world's major automotive hub, we would also expect freight forwarders handing automotive clients would be interested in attending. With the new railway transportation route to Europe from Chongqing, we would expect members that are interested in developing this route to attend as well. There will be a presentation about the service at the conference. During the conference we will arrange for visit to the river ports, the airport, the container terminals and possibly visit to some of the major manufacturers and also request some of these companies to give a presentation on their requirement from freight forwarders shipping from and to Chongqing.
